Rhode Island cancer survivor hosts launch party for apparel business
CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WJAR) — Cancer survivor Amy Neary hosted a launch party for her apparel and accessories business in Cumberland on Sunday afternoon.
The company, Share the Momentum, creates products that focus on hope, strength and encouragement.
Neary was first diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer in 2019.
She told NBC 10 News on Sunday that she completed 28 rounds of chemotherapy, and last December, she was considered stable and regarded as an “extreme survivor” by her thoracic surgeon.
This past June, doctors discovered a nearly 2-inch tumor pressing on Neary's brain.
She said she has since begun another round of chemotherapy.
Neary hopes her company can serve as a platform for people to come together to share their personal stories.
A portion of net proceeds from the company will go towards "unexpected delights" for others in their own battle with cancer.
